This first look reveals Matt Damon in the role of Odysseus. We also see Tom Holland as Telemachus alongside Anne Hathaway depicting the loyal wife. During an emotional scene, Penelope asks Odysseus to promise his safe homecoming, to which he respond by asking what happens if he cannot. The trailer also offers a brief, shadowy glimpse at Polyphemus the Cyclops, from whom sheep are are taken by the hero and his men during their arduous journey.
Adapted from a foundational pillar of Western literature, The Odyssey chronicles the epic journey of the legendary King of Ithaca. After his triumph in the Trojan War, which is depicted in Homer's Iliad, Odysseus endures an extended and hazardous return to his homeland.
